Nellie Yingling Class

Family Life Center, 1st Floor-next to library

Better know as the Nellies, this is a class of older women (65+), some of whom have been members since it was a class for young married couples.  Lessons are from the United Methodist literature written by well-informed, spirit-led individuals who challenge us in our faith and remind us that God has a sense of humor.  These are some of the biggest prayer warriors in our church who lace the ministry and the work of the church through with vibrant and powerful prayer.

Open Circle Class

Parlor in the main building

This is an inclusive class with goals of learning, loving and serving... with a lot of laughter in the process.  Guest teachers, eyewitness reports, prayers for the sick, food pantry and refreshments are also on the agenda.

Praise and Outreach Class

Family Life Center, 2nd Floor-on walking track

The Praise and Outreach class is made of people ranging from the ages of 25 to 60 years, singles and couples.  We have various Bible studies throughout the year and use the Cokesbury literature to supplement between studies.  Our class is very active in supporting different activities in the church, such as the 4th of July Celebration, VBS and anything else we are asked to do.  We also support various outreach programs throughout the year such as the Fresh Start Halfway House, Thanksgiving Meals, Christmas gifts for needy families, gloves and toboggans for the homeless and others.  We support each other with prayer, baby showers, bridal parties, fishing parties and anything that is a part of the life of our class.  We love to praise and serve the living Lord.It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more.

Methodism 101

Family Life Center, 2nd Floor on Walking track

Join us Sunday, January 21, for a new, once-a-month Sunday School class meeting in Room 200 of the Family Life Center. Many of us did not grow up in The United Methodist Church. We have noticed different practices of the church of our early years and the church we attend now. Methodism 101 will help us understand the traditions of the UMC, church and worship, and John Wesley.

Birth - 5th Grade Sunday Children's Ministries! 9 or 11am Children's Church and 10am Bible Study Sunday School each week!

Sunday School classes meet in the children’s wing and main level of the family life center from 10:00 – 10:45 each week! In this safe environment, children are invited to learn and explore the stories of the Bible through storytelling, discussion, games, crafts, exploration, discovery and fellowship. They are encouraged to live their lives as disciples of Jesus Christ. During worship services, ages 3 - 3rd grade attend part of the service with their parents and are dismissed to children's church with Ms. Tonya following a children's sermon in the sanctuary. Parents can pick up their child at the end of service in the Family Life Center. Doodle bags and children's activity bulletins are available for all children. These activities are provided to engage our young worshippers in 4th and 5th grades as they transition from children's church to 'big' church.

Nursery (infants – 2 year olds) available during all services and Sunday school -Ms. Marsha Harbarger, teacher
This class is held in the nursery on the main level in the family life center. We welcome your little ones to nursery class where they will experience the love of Jesus while parents attend worship and Sunday school.

Pre-Kindergarten – Kindergarten (ages 3-5) Ms. Vonette and Mrs. Dale, teachers
Located in the Family Life Center across from the gym entrance. At 10am, the active little ones enjoy playing, hearing a story and making a craft to take home.

First and Second Grade - Mrs. Judy Fillebaum and Mrs. Joy Arnett, teachers
This class is on the upper level of the family life center in the Children’s wing. These young learners are engaged in one of the many stories of the Bible every Sunday at 10am. With the use of their imaginations, emotions, and minds, students will be invited into the biblical world, its dilemmas, and situations. By entering into the biblical story, persons of all ages may come to know how to respond the way Jesus would.

Third, Fourth and Fifth Grades - Mrs. Beverly Lavender, teacher
Join us in the the Children's wing of the family life center. Students at this level read the biblical story, and experience and participate in various activities to enhance their understanding of the message. Lessons begin at 10am and often include arts & crafts, games, and drama to help the biblical story have meaning for their daily living.
