We’re glad you have been visiting with us, and that you now are interested in joining this family of faith at Pleasant Hill.

Step 1: Inform us of your desire to become a member.
This can be done in several ways. Simply talk with one of our pastors (205-428-4056) or you may mark that you are interested in joining on the attendance pad that is passed at each worship service. A member of the staff will follow up with you later.

Step 2: Joining Pleasant Hill - There are several options for membership.
Transfer of membership from another UMC church – If you are currently a member of another UMC church, you may simply transfer your membership to Pleasant Hill.

Transfer of membership from another denomination – If you are currently a member of another denomination, you may transfer to the United Methodist Church. You will be asked to support the church with your “prayers, presence, gifts service and witness”.

Reaffirmation of faith – If you have been baptized but have not been active in a church in some time, you may join by reaffirming your faith and promising to support the church with your “prayers, presence, gifts, service and witness”.

Confession/Profession of faith – If you have never been baptized nor made a decision to join a church, you may join by confession of your faith and Christian Baptism.

Once you have decided what option works best for you, you will come before the congregation at one of the worship services on Sunday morning and officially “join”. Our members will enjoy greeting you at the end of the service to welcome you into our family.
